Out of many theories that have been created explaining the origin of universe ' big bang ' theory has been so convincing, according to it initially at the beginning there was a huge sphere surrounded by vacuum contained enormous amount of energy , eventually something unknown triggered a collision which led to a huge explosion ,and guess what light was born
This huge amount of energy was nothing but high energy light rays precisely gamma rays
So how was matter formed ?

The fourth picture in the image shows how fundamental antiparticles are created, high energy gamma rays have undergone pair production process leading to the formation of an electron and a positron. These particles being antiparticles have same mass but opposite charge
This process can be explained by the mass energy equivalence principle (by Albert Einstein) .
Fundamental particles being formed, combined together and gave new particles leading to formation of atoms , elements and finally matter.
The only flaw in this theory is the source for the explosion of the energy sphere, well it is hard to believe from nowhere something comes and collided with this huge sphere and caused big bang.
